Do you charge anything to publish my book?
That depends on the type of contract we mutually decide upon.
If we sign a traditional publishing contract, there are no cost to you to publish your book with the following exception.
- Copyright Fee - you retain the copyright so it is your responsibility to file for the copyright. Tex Ware will file for you and charge you the cost of the filing (currently $35) + $10 handling. You may choose to file yourself either electronically or by sending a copy of your book to the copyright office.
- All proofing of your book will be done electronically with text files and the final PDF files. You will then approve the text and cover of your book. Tex Ware will then generate a physical proof to verify that the printed copy is the same as the PDF files. Should you desire any changes other than correcting formatting, you will be charged $25 for each new physical proof copy generated.
- The Author has the option of requesting a Library of Congress number before publication. You will then be required to send a copy of the printed book to the Library of Congress. If the you fail to do this, then Tex Ware will send the copy and charge the Author cost of the book and shipping.
If we sign a subsidy publishing contract, there will be a negotiated one time cost to prepare your book for publishing. There will also be an annual maintenance fee ($25.00) to cover the bookkeeping cost associate with distributing royalties.
