Publicity is very important if you want to get visibility for your book. Having your book published and listed at Amazon.com will not sell any books. You need publicity. Self publishing companies charge significant prices for their publicity packages and deliver very little in the way of sales. Even with large publishing houses you will find that you will have to do much of the work yourself. With a little bit of internet shopping you can do much better yourself.

• Tex Ware will provide a page for you on this web site under Authors.

Press Releases (Optional Based on Tex Ware’s Evaluation)

• We have found that press releases yield very poor results and are generally a waste of time and money unless you are already famous.
• Therefore, Tex Ware will send out a press release only on rare occasions and only for selected books. (Your individual contract will specify if a publicity release will be provided.)
• You will need to help us prepare for this, just as you would for any publisher. If you don't' prepare and provide this information then you will not get a press release.
• You will need to be available for interviews.
• You will need to send review copies of your book to interviewers who request them.

If you want additional publicity please understand that this will be your responsibility. There are many sources on the internet to help you. Some things you will want to consider as you encourage people to buy your book are:

• Business cards
• Post cards
• Book marks
• Press Kit
• Contacting news papers and magazines
• Contacting book reviewers - Sending books at your expense
• Contacting radio and TV

Things to avoid:

• Mass mailings - either email or snail-mail. How much junk mail do you toss?
• Get rich schemes that promise overnight success in publicity.
